Scouts Logo Atherstone District Explorer Scout Unit

Explorer Scouts are young people, aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth section of the Scouting family after Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

ExplorersAtherstone District Explorer Scout Unit, known as “Snakes and Hatters” are formed from several separate Scout Groups in the Atherstone District area. They are not directly part of 1st Mancetter Scout Group but meet at our headquarters. Individual Scout Groups in our District do not have sufficient Explorer Scouts to run individual Group Units so all Explorer Scouts from our District join together as part of Snakes and Hatters.

Explorer Scouts often get the chance to work with other Explorer Scouts in other Districts, not just their own Unit, so can take part in an even wider spectrum of activities. There is also a range of ambitious badges and awards, through which Explorers can demonstrate their proficiencies and expand their interests.
